SL composite passes beta tests
After nearly a year of successful, comprehensive beta testing by a variety of industries and stereolithography service bureaus worldwide, NanoForm 15120 is now available commercially.
This newest line of patented materials is the only stereolithography solution available to incorporate nanoparticle technology.
Somos is currently in the site selection process for beta testing across Europe and the Americas.
The composite material NanoForm 15120 exhibits many properties similar to fused deposition and glass-filled polyamide sintering materials, with the accuracy, precision and surface finish inherent in stereolithography.
Mechanical performance includes an exceptionally high modulus of better than 5000mPa, and an elevated temperature performance (HDT) of higher than 132C.
Furthermore, the composite technology of NanoForm contributes to exceptional dimensional stability, low shrink, and low coefficient of thermal linear expansion, rendering the material a superior solution to previous stereolithography and selective laser sintering solutions available on the market.
