Polyamide improves connector performance
Electronics manufacturer Tyco Amp Den Bosch has changed the material it uses for moulding PCMCIA card headers from liquid crystal polymer to Stanyl polyamide 4,6.
According to Jo Kockelkoren, European Sales Manager General Industries and Distribution for DSM Engineering Plastics, this joint approach will benefit customers in Eastern Europe in two ways: "This agreement will make DSM's range of world class products more easily available throughout the region, using Resin Express' well-established distribution network".
"Key products include Stanyl high-temperature polyamides, Akulon polyamides, and Arnitel copolyester elastomers and material modifications such as Stanyl High Flow, Akulon Ultraflow, Akulon XP, and Arnite XL which will help to improve productivity, part performance, and quality".
"And all these products will be fully supported by our outstanding technical support and application development programs, where necessary".
The move is in line with DSM's corporate strategy to focus on new and emerging markets - as defined in Vision 2010, the corporate blueprint for future development of the company.
"This distribution agreement is a very important step, following the strategy of the Resin Express to expand its engineering plastics and specialities product portfolio with well known brands of prominent raw material producers", adds Kees Vissers, Commercial Director Resin Express.
"The addition of the Eastern European regions to the distribution agreements between DSM Engineering Plastics and Resin Express in France, UK and Benelux confirms the strong partnership between DSM and Resin Express.
