Calibration software offers more instrumentation

A Dspace UK product story

Version 1.2 of Dspace's calibration software includes new plotter functions and extended instrumentation options.

Version 1.2 of Dspace's calibration software includes new plotter functions and extended instrumentation options.

CalDesk's Plotter instrument can now display several signals without overlapping, making them much easier to monitor.

There is also a new scroll bar to help users navigate in the Plotter window and define intervals for data analysis.

The Plotter now also supports visual down sampling, in which the number of measurement values that it displays is reduced as required, without affecting the number of values that are actually recorded.

This means that even signals with very high sampling rates can be displayed during an ongoing measurement.

A typical application is visualising the envelope curve of torsional vibrations or the mean value of a noisy signal.

Measurement data throughput has again been boosted, making it possible to work efficiently with measurement files of more than 1Gbyte.

The Plotter legend contains additional information on the selected time interval, such as mean value, standard deviation, and extreme values.

The new LED instrument in CalDesk 1.2 displays various kinds of status information, such as threshold and range violations, by clearly distinguishable colour changes.

Bits and bit ranges within variables can be selected for evaluation by the LED instrument.

The limited resources available in electronic control units (ECUs) often leave very little scope for raster-synchronous measurement.

CalDesk 1.2 solves this problem by supporting the use of an external clock rate for measuring ECU variables, definable via the PC timer.

Data sets can now be flashed to an ECU's Flash memory using the new Dspace ECU Flash programming tool.

The new tool supports the DCI-GMI1 and DCI-GSI1, and XCP on CAN.
