DSM Computer's newly developed 96M1558 embedded system from the "E6" NanoServer family has been specially designed for high-end applications.

DSM Computer's newly developed 96M1558 embedded system from the E6 NanoServer family has been specially designed for high-end applications.

The industry-standard server based on the high-performance Intel Core 2 Duo (T7400) processor has a 2.16 clock rate.

The two cores can use the 667MHz front-side bus to access the shared system memory with a maximum capacity of 4Gbyte (DDR2 RAM).

To allow the large data volumes to be transferred, if required, the NanoServer provides either two PCI slots or, as an alternative, a PCI and a PCI Express x1 expansion slot for short cards.

The integrated Intel 82562 LAN controller on the PCI bus allows a 10 / 100 Base-TX LAN network connection to be established; the Marvell 88E8053 controller connected to the PCI Express bus supports a fast 10 / 100 / 1000 Base-T LAN.

The internal mini PCI slot also allows a WLAN connection to be realised.

The solid, high-quality industrial housing with the compact dimensions of only 206 x 220 x 110mm has space for two 2.5-inch SATA HDDs for the fast storing of large data volumes.

Six USB 2.0 ports are provided for the connection of diskette and CD/DVD-ROM drives; as an option, a Disk-on-Module or Compact Flash can be connected.

The Intel 82945GM chipset used in the "E6" provides high-performance graphical capabilities for high-resolution video streams.

The VGA memory has a capacity of 224Mbyte (shared).

The maximum resolution is 2048 x 1536 pixels at a 75Hz refresh rate.

In addition to the S-Video and a Composite TVout interface, an analogue or digital audio interface is integrated.

For the permanent status monitoring of the operating parameters, such as the processor temperature, the supply voltage, the fan speed and the hard disk status, the 96M1558 NanoServer can be supplied with the DSM System Monitor Program, DSMP.

Because any faults in the hardware are detected early before they cause failure, DSMP allows the system availability to be increased significantly.

The CE-certified "E6" system operates in the temperature range from 0 to 50C.

The industrial PC can be supplied in all RAL and NCS colours, also with customer-specific logo.
