A DSM Computer product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Apr 20, 2007

Thanks to its wide range of connection possibilities, DSM Computer's IPC 96M1594 provides a high degree of flexibility.

DSM Computer's Infinity 96M1594 industrial computer is now also available with the high-performance Intel Core 2 Duo processor.

The two cores use a 1066 MHz front-side bus to access the single/dual-channel main memory (DDR2 667 SDRAMs) with 4Gbyte as maximum memory capacity.

The Intel Graphic Media Accelerator 950 VGA integrated in the Intel 945G chipset permits a high resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels at a 75Hz refresh rate.

Thanks to its wide range of connection possibilities, the IPC 96M1594 provides a high degree of flexibility: eight USB 2.0 ports, two PS/2 interfaces for mouse and keyboard, audio, Gigabit-LAN, VGA and also two serial interfaces and a parallel interface.

A PCI Express x16 and two PCI Express x1 slots are available for general use.

An additional four slots are available for use by long PCI cards.

To allow large data volumes to be saved quickly, up to four drives can be connected using four Serial ATA II 300 connections.

The ICH7R bridge also supports Raid 0/1=5.

In addition, two enhanced IDE and an FDD port are present.

In addition to four 5.25-inch drive bays and a 3.5-inch bay for diskette drive, CD ROMs, DVD ROMs or hard disks, the industrial computer is optionally equipped with an SATA mounting frame for three drives.

For protection against severe vibration, the drives are installed in a rubber-mounted drive cage attached with springs.

For ventilation, the Infinity contains a temperature-controlled 12cm fan mounted on ball-bearings located behind a dust filter on the front side and a 6cm fan at the back.

A 400/530 W power pack provides the power supply.

The 4-HU flat IPC is constructed as a solid, high-quality rack for installation in 19-inch cabinets or as a desktop for use in a harsh industrial environment.

The operating elements, including drives, are located behind a lockable metal door.

The reset button and two USB connections are located on the front side.

If required, the housing front can be ordered in all RAL and NCS colours, with a company logo.
