Purchases double rapid prototyping capacity
The Viper Pro SLA System manufactures parts with exceptional feature details, accuracy, surface finish and large part size that are ordinarily associated with CNC machining.
Early evaluation of the new features found in the LS version 3.2 by OEMs and service bureaux was extremely positive, including upward and downward fill compensation, outline outside contour only, extrusion, variable layer thickness and infiltration tab wizard, among others.
"The new software is in line with what our customers have been asking for", says Xiaoshu Xu, Director of Software for 3D Systems.
"We have focused on making the systems easier and more efficient to use.
For example, on many occasions when DuraForm material users are concerned with the outside appearance and accuracy of some geometries, The Outline Outside Contour will be useful without sacrificing speed.
Features such as pop-up 'push start' message notifies the operator to start the build, and automatic log file archiving is designed to provide ease of use to the operator".
This upgrade will be provided free of charge to SLS system owners on contract or under warranty.
SLS system owners currently without a 3D Systems maintenance programme or under warranty should contact their local 3D Systems representative for more information on how to obtain the latest software upgrade.
