Data Translation's DT2040 Series of 6 1/2 digit PCI multimeters are high-accuracy and higher resolution PCI plug-in boards for measurement, automated testing and industrial applications

Data Translation today announced the DT2040 Series of 6 1/2 digit PCI multimeters for the industrial market.

The DT2040 Series are designed as universal, multi-functioning digital multimeters (DMM).

Measurements commonly associated with high-end system DMMs are standard features with the DT2040 Series.

"Data Translation continues to break new ground and offer leading edge products for the Test and Measurement marketplace," said Nigel Doe, Data Translation's UK Sales Manager.

"We think our new 6 1/2 digit PCI plug-in DMMs will make fast inroads into test systems.

The easy to install DT2040 series supports plug-and-play operating systems.

Once installed, a user's computer will automatically detect and allocate I/O space, without having to set address switches.

Add to this the ready to measure software program and users are up and making measurements within minutes of installation." The DT2040 is perfect when basic DMM functions are required.

The 6 1/2 digit display, 0.006% basic DCV accuracy and 1,000 rps assure users of measurements that are accurate, fast and repeatable.

The DT2044 LCR sourcing digital multimeter adds more measurements and source functions, packed into a half-size PCI plug-in module.

It is best suited for applications that demand precision sources with simultaneous measurements such as in Parametric testing.

Both measurements and sourcing functions are isolated from the PC and are therefore truly differential.

An on-board controller responds to high level commands from the PC minimising overhead.

Special features of the DT2044 include: * Internal Temperature where a special on-board temperature sensor allows monitoring of the DMM's internal temperature.

This not only helps determine when to run the self-calibration function for the DMM, but also predicts the performance of the DMM under different operating conditions.

* Capacitance Measurements using a differential charge slew method, usable down to a few pF.

* Inductance Measurement using a precision AC source with a frequency range of 20 Hz to 75 kHz.

In addition to inductance, the inductor's Q factor is measured.

* Sourcing Functions giving greater versatility for a variety of applications.

The DT2040 Series ships with ready to measure software and runs on Microsoft Windows 98/95 and NT.

Pricing, Availability and Support The DT2040 6 1/2 Digit Digital Multimeter is priced at a competitive £965.00 with the higher model DT2044 6 1/2 LCR Sourcing Digital Multimeter priced at £1,775.00.
