The Data Acquisition Omni CD is a robust new software bundle that is included at no charge with all future deliveries of Data Translation (DT) USB and PCI data acquisition boards.

Data Translation today announced the release of the Data Acquisition Omni CD, a robust, new software bundle that is included at no charge with all future deliveries of Data Translation (DT) USB and PCI data acquisition boards.

The Omni CD comprises 32-bit WDM device drivers for all DT PCI and USB data acquisition boards, as well as a DataAcq SDK software development kit, a TestPoint evaluation package, and several software programs to run applications for interactive instrument control, data acquisition, analysis, presentation, and application-building libraries.

The CD also contains video tutorials and executable example programs with source codes.

Users will benefit from the ease of use and versatility of Data Translation�s Omni CD.

Many will use the applications straight out of the box and be up and running in no time.

For those who need to create customised applications, the Omni CD gives them the opportunity to evaluate which software development package best suits their needs before purchasing any software.

The Data Acquisition Omni CD application software is based on DT-Open Layers and contains the following components: * All 32-bit WDM Drivers supporting Windows 98, 2000, and NT 4.0 * DataAcq SDK Software Development Kit * TestPoint Evaluation Package * TestPoint Run-Time Data Acquisition Application * Quick DataAcq * Scope Application Program DataAcq SDK Software Development Kit is made up of drivers and function calls to dynamic link libraries (DLLs) consisting of all necessary header files, libraries, example programs, and documentation to easily develop custom applications.

The DataAcq SDK programs can be readily expanded to add data analysis by using the additional libraries that are included on the Omni CD TestPoint Evaluation Package is drag-and-drop software for designing test, measurement, and data acquisition applications that gives users all the capabilities of TestPoint Professional Development System.

TestPoint Evaluation provides video tutorials and program examples for ease in applying TestPoint even without having Windows programming experience.

Data Translation's Omni CD also offers three menu-driven, ready-to-run applications.

The applications can be used as stand-alones or as templates to build customised systems.

TestPoint Run-Time Data Acquisition Application was created using the TestPoint Professional Development System.

This program gives users access to all functions of the data acquisition card to collect, save, and display data.

Quick DataAcq was created using Data Translation�s DTx-EZ controls and Microsoft Visual Basic .

Quick DataAcq allows users to collect A/D data, display data to the screen and save data to disk.

The application Visual Basic source code is included in the Omni CD.

Scope Application Program emulates three basic instruments: (1) a simple oscillographic chart recorder, (2) a data logger, and (3) a multi-channel oscilloscope.

Users can monitor data online and capture it to disk either manually or automatically based on trigger conditions being met.

In addition, users can capture data to different files at different sample rates in both the chart recorder and scope modes simultaneously.
