Data Translation has announced the release of DT Vision Foundry 3.0 Version 3.0 of the Windows-based machine vision software incorporates three new vision tools as well as improvements to existing tools

"We're committed to making machine vision applications quicker, easier and affordable" said Nigel Doe, UK Sales Manager "These latest additions strengthen DT Vision Foundry even further" DT Vision Foundry is a versatile and extensible Machine Vision software package that integrates powerful vision tools with multiple programming environments to provide a robust, flexible, easy-to use visual inspection package.

DT Vision Foundry 3.0 includes these distinguishing features.

Enhanced Picture Tool includes faster asynchronous triggering modes and greater frame grabber control.

AVI capture enhancements include real-time capture to memory as well as user-selectable date and time stamps for each AVI frame captured.

New Import Tool allows variable data, images, and text files to be imported to DT Vision Foundry from external applications.

Using the new and unique DTiX (DT information eXchange) variable data and image data servers, applications such as Visual Basic and Delphi can transfer data to the DTiX servers for processing, measurement, and analysis by all applicable tools within DT Vision Foundry.

New Export Tool allows variable data, images, DDE (both variable and image) data, and text files to be exported from DT Vision Foundry to external applications.

Using the DTiX variable data and image data servers, applications such as Visual Basic, Delphi, and other client-based applications can access data from the DTiX servers via the included DTImages and DTVariables ActiveX controls.

New Prompt Tool allows a user to interact with the data input during the execution of a Point and Click Script.

When a program is running, the Prompt Tool presents a dialog box that allows the user to input requested information (yes/no, serial number, name), upon which the data can then be acted upon by the Point and Click Script to then perform a specific operation.

Enhanced Color Plane Tool includes HSL image processing, which allows true hue-based operations to be performed in addition to standard RGB, luminance (Y), Inphase (I) and Quadrature (Q) operations.

The resultant chromatic data can be used for performing operations with other tools that can handle color data.

Enhanced Threshold Tool includes a new "automatic" thresholding capability that works on all image file data types (monochrome, RGB, HSL).

Enhanced Image Classifier Tool allows objects within an image to be classified (identified) by their features.

This network-based tool is rotation-invariant and very fast, making it ideal for identifying items where rapid execution speed is required.

Enhancements to this tool include the ability to classify items based on RGB and HSL color data.

Enhanced Barcode Tool includes the addition of EAN 8 and EAN 13 barcode standards.

Enhanced Search Tool allows desired targets or features to be trained and then located anywhere within an image to within 1/50th of a pixel.

Ideal uses include locating fiducial marks, logos, IC devices.

This fast and robust tool allows for rotation variations of up to +/- 15 degrees and excels in applications where poor lighting, poor contrast, and glare are problematic.

The enhanced Search Tool includes a completely new user interface and performance optimisation.

New Information Pane displays key information, such as image name, image type, pixel values, and cursor location information, in the main application interface.
