A real-time DSP data acquisition Sleek Box is capable of accepting eight simultaneous integrated electronics piezoelectric (IEPE) sensor inputs.

Data Translation has announced the DT9841-VIB, a real-time DSP data acquisition Sleek Box capable of accepting eight simultaneous integrated electronics piezoelectric (IEPE) sensor inputs.

The DT9841-VIB is the latest addition to the Fulcrum II Series of DSP data acquisition products for USB 2.0.

The DT9841-VIB provides excitation, signal conditioning, and anti-aliasing filtering for real-time high accuracy IEPE sensor values.

According to Fred Molinari, President, Founder and CEO of Data Translation: "The DT9841-VIB is ideal for applications requiring piezoelectric accelerometer readings such as automotive test, acoustics, sonar, and rotating machinery".

"This system combines the real-time processing power of the 32bit DSP chip with high performance analogue and digital functions, at an attractive price".

The DT9841-VIB board contains eight, simultaneous 24bit sigma-delta analogue input channels with a sampling rate of 100kHz per channel.

In addition, the board has two, 24bit deglitched waveform analogue output channels to control a shaker table for example, and stimulate systems under test, 16 digital I/O lines for control and monitoring, and three 32bit counter/timers providing highly accurate timing functions.

All subsystems can be run simultaneously and monitored in real time with an onboard 32bit floating point processor.

With sampling rates up to 100kHz per channel and uninterrupted data transfer, the DT9841-VIB board is ideal for real-time operations.

TheDT9841-VIB Sleek Box supports the following software programmable IEPE functions for each of its eight analogue inputs: enabling or disabling the use of a 4mA current source; the option to use AC or DC coupling; and enabling or disabling the use of the two-pole 10kHz Butterworth filter.

Extensive and comprehensive host and DSP communication libraries ship with the board and are compatible with TI Code Composer Studio and Microsoft Visual Studio providing complete access to all onboard real-time functions and communication to/from the PC.

Ready-to-Measure example application programs exercise every board function and get users up and running quickly.

Additionally, this system is supported by Vibrant Technology's ME'scope program for post-processing and analysis of acoustic and vibration test data.

The DT9841-VIB, available in a Sleek Box version and is shipping immediately.
