Data Translation's Ethernet (LXI) version of the TEMPpoint temperature sensor is suitable for use the field, in the laboratory and on the factory floor.

Data Translation has released the Ethernet (LXI) version of its TEMPpoint temperature measurement instrument.

This network-ready version of the instrument provides a standard Ethernet connection to support remote monitoring and control of thermocouples, RTDs and voltages.

It is suitable for use the field, in the laboratory and on the factory floor.

TEMPpoint offers 48 separate channels with 24bit resolution, each with it's own A/D convertor and CJC circuit for unmatched +/-0.01% accuracy.

TEMPpoint has received full Class C compliance and certification for LXI, assuring compatibility with other LXI devices for large system configurations up to hundreds of channels.

1000V channel-to-channel isolation protects signal integrity and rejects common mode noise.

Additional Features of TEMPpoint include auto-calibration for guaranteed accuracy, automatic linearisation of B, E, J, K, N, R, S and T standard thermocouples, constant throughput across all channels at rates up to 10Hz per channel, four-wire RTD connections to eliminate errors, eight opto-isolated digital input lines for monitoring and eight opto-isolated digital output lines for driving relays TEMPpoint ships with a ready to measure web-based application.

Using the web-based TEMPpoint application, users can configure, measure and control the DT8871 and DT8872 instruments either locally or remotely.

Web pages are provided for configuring all aspects of TEMPpoint instruments, including the Local Area Network (LAN), input channels to measure, scan parameters, alarm limits and digital I/O lines.
