Such was the early success of the Flapjack fascia that Datwyler had sold all its stock before the first consignment arrived from Switzerland.

When recently approached by a Datwyler representative, wielding literature on the new Flapjack termination module and fascia, a client was heard to say: "As far as I'm aware, flapjack is a cake, which is quite scrummy with a cup of coffee in a cafe on a cold winter's day after trudging around shops with the wife" If only that were true, for both him and Datwyler

If the Flapjack from Datwyler were a scrummy cake then the company would have been able to predict Flapjack's overwhelming success more accurately.

The bittersweet truth is that Datwyler, on this occasion, got it wrong, and the new fascia's popularity meant that it had sold all of its stock before the first consignment of Flapjack arrived from Switzerland.

Flapjack has become one of the great success stories for Datwyler in 2002.

Datwyler's clients quickly warmed to the new outlet and have been snapping up Flapjack modules and holders ever since.

Users of the product now include companies such as BMW, HypoVeriensbank, The Shopping Channel, Wiltshire Combined Services HQ and Marshall Tufflex.

The Flapjack concept is entirely new to the data and telecomms industry.

The revolutionary new fascia - called Flapjack because users lift up the flap and plug the equipment cable into the jack - is unique in the angle of its connection, which has been specially designed to reduce bend radius and maintain cable integrity.

The fascia is ideal for use in areas such as floor boxes where mounting depth and cable bend radii are critical, but is equally suited to mounting in faceplates, where equipment cable hang neatly down the wall.

In its closed position, when mounted in both floor boxes and faceplates, the Flapjack's cover stops dust and dirt entering minimising the risk of contamination.

The flush design of the closed fascia will also deter unauthorised connection to unused ports.

Designed to fit the industry standard LJ6C aperture Flapjack can be mounted in standard plates from all of the leading floor box manufacturers.
