Cat6 connection system is catching on
Datwyler's Unilan Ultimax UTP solution is being installed in a growing number of large-scale building projects around the UK.
Datwyler's Unilan Ultimax UTP solution, launched last year at Networks with Reichle and De Massari (R and M) has proved a smart move for both companies as the copper cabling-based solution is being installed in a growing number of large-scale building projects around the UK According to Datwyler sales manager, Nick Andrews: "Our objective in developing this product in conjunction with R and M was to offer customers a complete end-to-end solution, using our cable and their connecting hardware expertise, where we take responsibility for the whole system"

Guard and clip protect against disconnection
Accidental disconnection of computer network systems can have catastrophic consequences, but two simple devices from Datwyler can avoid the problem.
Unilan Ultimax, which has been installed at the Southampton Institute, as well as BMW's new Mini production line at Cowley near Oxford and in BA Travel Shops, offers Cat 6 connection modules which are fully interoperable and backwards compatible.
The system's modular connection technology allows fast and easy connection of cables without the need for special tools, and as the modules have pair sequence wiring and reusable contacts, they can be reterminated as required, providing ultimate flexibility.
The company's new Cat6 UTP cable which, unlike most of its competitors, has no internal separator, was developed by Datwyler's R and D division, and offers a high degree of flexibility and ease of installation.
This cable has independently verified performance from 3P to Cat6 and is now being used on projects in the UK.
"Because we have dispensed with the need for an internal separator, the Cat6 cable is also smaller in diameter, making it easier for cable installers to use", said Nick Andrews.
Datwyler holds comprehensive stocks of product at its UK headquarters in Swindon, available for next day delivery to customers.
