Cat6 connection system is catching on
Datwyler's Unilan Ultimax UTP solution is being installed in a growing number of large-scale building projects around the UK.
Both companies have gained Datwyler Approved Installer status.
SMC has already completed its first major installation of Datwyler products at North Oxford Garages, a major BMW dealership.
The installation included Cat 6 UTP cabling in the office areas and a Cat 6 STP solution in the workshops, where there is greater risk of electrical interference.
In total nearly 350 outlets were installed, all of which are now covered by Datwyler's system performance warranty.
Blackboard Associates was keen to gain Datwyler accreditation in order to be able to offer a wide range of high-performance solutions to its customers throughout the UK.
Managing director, Ian Birdsey, is particularly interested in Datwyler's Multimedia System, a broadband TV distribution system, stating that he can see many applications in schools, hotels and private residences.
The Multimedia System is a high-frequency, fully shielded cabling system with balanced twisted-pair copper cables and compatible active multimedia components to convert CATV signals.
This enables the distribution of all data, voice and CATV services with a bandwidth of 5 to 862MHz over a structured building cabling to any data outlet simply by connecting with a patch cable.
