Data cables protected from cracking and buckling

Datwyler Cables+Systems is announcing an expanded range of standard patch cords for class D, E and F data networks.

Datwyler Cables+Systems is announcing an expanded range of standard patch cords for class D, E and F data networks.

Improved designs have equipped them with new RJ45 connectors allowing customised and stable high end performance connections in the field of patch and connection cables.

The RJ45 connectors have an innovative thermal sprayed bending protection which is very flexible though firmly joined to the connectors.

Compared to more rigid solutions, flexible tension relief ensures that the bending radius of the cable is fully exploited and guards against cracking and buckling of the cable in service.

The Cat 6 connector is equipped with a fixed, slightly relegated 'nose' ensuring effective catch protection and ease of use.

Datwyler offers the new patch cords in various colours with the option of non-corrosive, halogen-free or flame-retardant PVC sheathing.

The cables can be supplied ex stock in all standard lengths (between a 0.5 and 15 meters), while all other lengths can still be delivered within a few days.

Customers can choose between various cable types: the unshielded Uninet 602 flex up to 250MHz; the shielded twisted-pair Uninet 5502 flex up to 300MHz; and the double-shielded PiMF cable Uninet 7702 flex up to 1200MHz.

Cat 7 patch cords are available with RJ45 connectors and also with Datwyler's innovative Unilan Prime Solution (Unilan PS) connection technology.

The latter is available with either PS connectors on both sides or PS connectors on one side and RJ45 connectors on the other side making them usable as adaptor, junction or patching cables.

"Patch cords are used at the heart of the data network and are very often subject to a lot of handling and mishandling.

"They have to provide high performance, to be robust and provide flexibility in a dynamic environment.

"We have attached great importance to these aspects when developing this new generation of patch cords.

"With the diversification of our standard product line we are able to provide our customers with a wide range of requested features, lengths and colours - ex-stock or on very short lead times", says Graham Small, sales director at Datwyler UK.
