Circuit technology boosts RCD performance

A DeepStream Technologies product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Apr 9, 2008

DeepStream's 3D shaped circuit technology overcomes historic constraints of product topology and the hostile electrical arcing environment.

Moeller has signed a product development and supply agreement worth US $16m with DeepStream Technologies.

This is the first example of DeepStream's new technology being used within commercial products.

The products - which will carry the DeepStream brand mark - will be the most advanced and accurate RCDs available in the marketplace, according to Deepstream.

DeepStream has worked together with Moeller by developing a digital residual current measurement component using DeepStream's 3D shaped circuit technology, which overcomes historic constraints of product topology and the hostile electrical arcing environment.

This DeepStream technology enables Moeller to produce the first digital RCD devices, which provide improved accuracy and reduced nuisance tripping and informs users of the status of the protection device, either locally or remotely.
