System combines contact and noncontact
measurement
The OGP SmartScope Vantage enables single integrated cycle measurement of complex and highly accurate components up to 500 x 660 x 300mm.
The OGP SmartScope Vantage from Disc (GB) enables single integrated cycle measurement of complex and highly accurate components up to 500 x 660 x 300mm involving video-based noncontact and touch probe technologies which are calibrated to the same reference point OGP is a world leader in noncontact video-based measurement and associated software and with the latest SmartScope Vantage, components as diverse as those used in automotive related industries, mould and die, electronic and plastics moulding can be measured very quickly

Touch and vision combine for measurement
The OGP SmartScope Flash is a compact bench-mounted combination video-based noncontact and touch trigger contact measuring machine with up to 560 times on-screen magnification.
The SmartScope Vantage provides simple to understand pass/fail or error criteria and will create data output for process capability or SPC records.
Available through Disc (GB), the OGP Vantage incorporates patented TeleStar optics which have been specifically developed for metrology applications and are mounted on a rigid granite base.
Incorporated in the machine specification is the option to incorporate a Micro-Theta rotary indexing unit to work in conjunction with the touch probe and video system.
The TeleStar 10.1 zoom optics are auto-calibrating, have limited diffraction and are colour corrected for superior imaging.
This zoom range can provide between 32 and 320 times on-screen magnification through the 768 x 494pixel array high-resolution colour CCD camera.
Scale resolution of the machine is 0.1 micron.
Illumination is totally programmable using a substage profile light with electronically controlled iris.
This is able to synchronise the illumination to the operating magnification while a fibre optic ring light and OGP's patented SmartRing gives oblique illumination using its eight sector/six ring LED configuration.
A wide range of software is available to interface with the Microsoft Windows 98/2000 operating system.
These include OGP's MeasureFit which simultaneously analyses all features of the component and performs the most valid fit to the programmed profile.
SmartCAD translation software provides CAD file import, SmartRecord gives customised report presentation and the QC-Calc software package enables SPC data to be recorded.
