Touch and vision combine for measurement
The OGP SmartScope Flash is a compact bench-mounted combination video-based noncontact and touch trigger contact measuring machine with up to 560 times on-screen magnification.
This development will be carried out in conjunction with DEA Brown and Sharpe in order to take full advantage of market conditions and customer feedback.
Said Andrew Fulton: "This will be a very close working arrangement between our two companies for the UK market which will also include seamless warranty and support for Polar.
With DEA Brown and Sharpe marketing the product, OGP UK will be able to focus on noncontact measurement technology as a core business".
By taking on the sales, service and support of Polar, the DEA Brown and Sharpe division of Hexagon Metrology will fully integrate the measuring arm into its product portfolio of co-ordinate measuring machines, gauges and associated inspection equipment.
It has already interfaced its PC-DMIS operational software into the Polar product which will provide total associativity across its 3D measuring equipment range.
According to David Brown General Manager of UK sales for DEA Brown and Sharpe: "We have fully investigated the measuring arm market and found that Polar has a distinct on-site advantage for users with its ability to be calibrated at any time against a datum artefact.
This capability gives total confidence in its use and the measuring results gained.
Now with PC-DMIS software it provides a very simple to use measuring package that has the largest support infrastructure in the UK".
