Taiwan grows Asian filters growth

A DEM Manufacturing product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Jul 13, 2007

DEM Manufacturing has appointed a new distributor, Lai Chi, to market its high-performance KMF industrial mains filters in Taiwan and China.

Continued growth in the Taiwan machine tool manufacturing industry is driving sales of three-phase EMC filters in Asia, according to DEM Manufacturing.

The company has appointed a new distributor, Lai Chi, to market its high-performance KMF industrial mains filters in Taiwan and China.

Since the introduction of the KMF range of filters four years ago, DEM Manufacturing has seen year on year growth.

These filters are fast becoming the industry standard for the CNC machine tool market and their compact design and proven performance even when used with up to five drives in one machine, has made them the ideal solution for input currents up to 300A.

"Taiwan produces more than 2500 machining centres a month, ranking them fourth in the global machine tool market behind the USA, Japan and Germany", says Clifford Friel, Managing Director, DEM Manufacturing.

Published figures show the Taiwanese industry has enjoyed a steady year-on-year growth over the past five years, up to a 20% rise in 2005.

Predictions are that the 2007 figure will be 25% or higher.

DEM Manufacturing's KMF series of three-phase industrial mains filters offers cost-effective EMC compliance for machine tools and other industrial equipment operating in the range 500-600V.

The lightweight filters are available in six compact case sizes with current ratings from 6 to 330A.

All the models in the series are UL and CSA safety-approved.

"KMF is an ideal low cost, high-performance compliance filter that is proving very popular with the machine tool industry", says Clifford Friel.

"Sales have increased 40% in the last year alone".

"We are delighted to see our business in Asia expanding so rapidly".
