Dytran offers biaxial accelerometer for HUMS/AVC

A Dytran Instruments product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Aug 26, 2009

Dytran Instruments has released a biaxial accelerometer for health and usage monitoring systems (HUMS) and active vibration control (AVC) applications on commercial and military aircraft.

Model 3232A1 is a piezoelectric biaxial accelerometer incorporated into a mounting bracket.

The accelerometer elements are mounted orthogonally within the bracket and are internally case isolated from the mounting service.

The company claims that the integral mounting bracket design eliminates the cost associated with separate mounting brackets, while improving sensor performance and reducing mass when compared to conventional separate sensors and mounting brackets.

This unit features a radial three-pin 'Mighty Mouse' connector with a 5/16-28 thread and 10mV/g sensitivity.

The 3232A1 also features a case-isolated design to avoid ground loops and hermetic sealing for normal operation in moist and dirty environments.
