Tower attractions sign up for
maintenance
Eastern Contracting has agreed terms with two of London's most prestigious tourist attractions.
Alfred McAlpine Utility Services, following its acquisition of Eastern Contracting (including its PowerSure service and existing personnel and expertise) has agreed terms with two of London's most prestigious tourist attractions The PowerSure service has gone live under contract agreements lasting four years with Tower Bridge, owned by the Corporation of London, and the Tower of London, to maintain electrical equipment

In both cases Alfred McAlpine Utility Services undertakes a planned and response based inspection and maintenance service.

With thousands of people using Tower Bridge every day our main concern was to ensure that our high voltage equipment is maintained to the highest standard and that, if we were left without power, the situation would be fixed as quickly and efficiently as possible".
As part of its commitment to the project Alfred McAlpine Utility Services has provided staff at Tower Bridge with training to enable them to safely enter the high voltage sub-station.
Following the two one-day sessions 11 staff were trained under Alfred McAlpine Utility Services safety rules.
Staff at the Tower of London will shortly be trained to the same safety standards.
