Panelite of Oklahoma City has purchased PSI - Plot Service for Pro/Intralink for batch printing of drawings from a list generated by its MRP system.
Panelite of Oklahoma City has purchased PSI - Plot Service for Pro/Intralink for batch printing of drawings from a list generated by its MRP system.
"PSI saves us several hours per day of manually printing shop floor drawings".
"Every morning our MRP system outputs a list of 50 to 75 drawings required that day by manufacturing", stated Ian Cox, CAD Administrator for Panelite "PSI automatically checks that the drawings have been released and then processes the list to a local printer", continued Cox.
"In 1999 we contracted with another vendor to create a similar application".
"We have stopped waiting for them".
PSI provides designers, engineers and administrators an automatic means of plotting or creating communication file formats such as PDF, DXF, HPGL, IGES, STEP and images files from Pro/Intralink objects.
PSI has four operating modes for creating plots or files.
They are through batch, web access, command line or automatic monitoring of Pro/Intralink for objects promoted to an approved release level.
"Panelite asked us to add batch processing and Windows Print Manager support for PSI", said Bojan Rapaic, founder and President of Etrage.
"This was a natural extension of functionality for the application", Ron Zabilski, Director of Sales and Marketing continued: "Mr Cox advised us that they were looking for a PSI type of application for a number of years".
"He stated if we built it, he would buy it".
"We both kept our promises".
