Plot service supports JT format files

An Etrage product story

The Lockheed Martin Atlas Programme is using PSI - Plot Service for Pro/Intralink to automatically create JT format files from Pro/Engineer parts and assemblies.

The Lockheed Martin Atlas Programme is using PSI - Plot Service for Pro/Intralink to automatically create JT format files from Pro/Engineer parts and assemblies stored in Pro/Intralink to support the visualisation requirements of the programme.

"Etrage has worked with the Atlas Programme to develop processes that support our visualisation requirements for Pro/Engineer models", stated Richard Lawson, Senior Design Engineer.

"In addition to the ProductView format, PSI now supports the creation of JT format files by automatically monitoring Pro/Intralink for promoted parts or assemblies".

"PSI will enable the program to have a visualisation model that is continuously updated with the latest parts and assemblies as they are released".

Dennis Hoff, Manager of Atlas Engineering Services continues: "Previously production of the entire JT model for visualisation was a manual effort that required several workstations".

"Now PSI can be used to create a JT model baseline of the rocket assembly over night".

"Several of these assemblies approach a size of 8Gbyte".

PSI provides designers, engineers and administrators an automatic means creating JT or ProductView models automatically.

PSI also supports plotting or exporting Pro/Intralink objects to communication file formats such as native Pro/Engineer, IGES, PDF, DXF, HPGL, BMP, JPEG, EPS and TIFF files.

PSI has four operating modes for creating files or plotting.

They are web access, batch, command line or automatic monitoring of Pro/Intralink for objects promoted to an approved release level.

"Processing of Pro/Engineer parts and assemblies to JT file format has been added to PSI for visualisation requirements", states Ron Zabilski, Etrage Director of Sales and Marketing.

"In addition, similar to the ProductView capability, PSI can process assemblies that are larger than the 2Gbyte Windows 32bit operating system limitation".

"The JT functionality adds to the industry leading formats that can be processed by PSI", said Bojan Rapaic, founder and President of Etrage.

"Etrage will continue to enhance PSI with capability that adds value to the Pro/Engineer user".
