Interface simplifies programming

An Etrage product story

Etrage's ACI simplifies the development of applications using PTC's Pro/Toolkit for Pro/Engineer Wildfire and Pro/INTRALink.

Etrage has released the Automation COM Interface (ACI).

ACI simplifies the development of applications using PTC's Pro/Toolkit for Pro/Engineer Wildfire and Pro/INTRALink.

ACI provides engineers with a user-friendly interface that controls many technical aspects of the Pro/Toolkit API, allowing engineers to produce applications quickly.

ACI consolidates the Pro/Toolkit interface and internally translates it to the corresponding series of Pro/Toolkit calls.

This keeps the engineer from having to know the complexities of Pro/Toolkit or C/C++.

ACI supports .NET languages such as VB.NET and C#, as well as VB6, Delphi and scripting languages such as Tcl.

This enables a significant reduction in the number of lines of code that are needed to create an application that interfaces with Wildfire 2 or 3 and Pro/INTRALink 3.x.

Interfaces for Windchill and INTRALink 8.0 are in development.

"The Automation COM Interface provides engineers with a means to quickly develop Pro/Engineer Wildfire automation applications without needing to be an expert programmer" according to Bojan Rapaic, President and Director of Development at Etrage.

He continued with, "With ACI, Visual Basic or Web automation applications can be easily made without being trained in Pro/toolkit".
