Jargon buster cuts through the ATEX jungle
ABB has published an "ATEX jargon buster" that helps motor users cut through the jungle of terms and definitions that make up the new ATEX Directives.
The report shows that EAL has 76% of the market share for engineering NVQs awarded within the sector in scope to SEMTA, the Sector Skills Council for Science, Engineering and Manufacturing Technologies.
Taking the QCA definition of the engineering and manufacturing technologies sector as a baseline (wider than SEMTA's scope), EAL again ranks as market leader with a 38% share for 2003-2004 - two percentage points ahead of City and Guilds.
Managing Director, Ann Watson, said: "This is excellent news for our business".
"It shows that our practice of listening to customers to closely identify their needs and our ongoing commitment to top-quality customer service are paying dividends".
"We recognise that providers have a choice when it comes to selecting the right NVQ and we aim to be the first choice in engineering".
Since PwC's research was concluded, EAL has entered the building services engineering sector, represented by SummitSkills, and is forecast to be market leader here too by the end of this academic year.
NVQs comprise the largest group of qualifications in the National Qualifications Framework.
EAL awards 6% of the overall total.
It is the fifth-largest awarding body after EdExcel, City and Guilds, OCR and EDI, and the fourth-largest awarder of NVQs.
