EA Technology has broken into the North American market with a new distribution partner and a string of orders, from Alaska to Louisiana.

The company has granted exclusive product distribution rights in the region to Sacramento-based TJH2b, a world market leader in condition assessment of power assets using oil and gas analysis.

It has four offices in the USA and one in Canada.

Its European base is in the same building as EA Technology, at Capenhurst in the UK.

EA Technology Managing Director Robert Davis said: "This is a real partnership because we are both specialists in the condition assessment field and we have been working together around the world for several years".

"Our solutions complement each other and so do our potential customer bases".

"TJH2b has an excellent reputation and on-the-ground presence in North America, which makes the company a perfect springboard for our products".

EA Technology's drive into North America is being led by its range of instruments for detecting, locating and measuring partial discharge (PD) activity in HV assets - a technique widely used to assess asset condition in the UK, but far less established in the USA and Canada.

North American companies now using EA Technology's PD products include Newfoundland Power, Arizona Public Service, Chugach Power and High-Voltage Equipment Diagnostics.

Other major US utilities such as Pacific Gas and Electric and Southern California Edison are currently evaluating the capabilities of the UltraTev PD detector, which is extensively used by every utility company in Britain.

Davis added: "TJH2b can now offer EA Technology's expertise in PD measurement, alongside its own capabilities in oil and gas sampling and analysis".

"That adds up to a very strong proposition for operators seeking noninvasive assessment of the true condition of their assets".

EA Technology will be fully represented at TJH2b's 12th Annual TechCon Conference at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort in Orlando, Florida, from 28th February to 2nd March 2007.
