Users of EA Technology's industry-standard UltraTEV partial discharge detector can reduce their costs of ownership with the new UltraTEV Calibration Checker.

Users of EA Technology's industry-standard UltraTEV partial discharge detector can reduce their costs of ownership with the new UltraTEV Calibration Checker.

The easy-to-use accessory enables operators to confirm that their UltraTEV detectors are correctly calibrated, without the cost and inconvenience of returning them to the company each year to be tested.

Units only need to be returned if they are outside their specified calibration.

The Calibration Checker only requires an annual calibration to ensure it is functioning correctly.

EA Technology's Colin Vickers said: "Thousands of UltraTEVs are now in service, as the standard tool for detecting partial discharge activity in substations across the UK and in many parts of the world".

"Instruments of this type need their calibration testing annually, so this is a highly cost-effective and user-friendly solution".

The unit tests the levels of the UltraTEV detectors' ultrasonic and transient earth voltage (TEV) sensors in seconds and gives an immediate indication if they are outside specification.

It is powered by the charger unit supplied with the UltraTEV detector.
