Ceramic coating applied with novel green
process
A novel proprietary technology uses a revolutionary low power source with special effects in many fields with unique advantages over conventional surface engineering processes.
Ecotech Industries is a technology company formed in Newhaven, East Sussex, in May 2001 by its shareholders Now Ecotech is commercialising a unique proprietary technology using a revolutionary low power source with special effects in many fields with unique advantages over conventional surface engineering processes
EcoCeramic is a novel micro-arc ceramic coating technology for valve/barrier layer metals and their alloys.
The innovative electrolytic production process is environmentally friendly, with numerous product benefits up to ISO9001:2000 standard.
Current and potential customers include manufacturers of valve/barrier layer metal components and end products in the automotive, semiconductor, aerospace, pumps, body implants, marine, textile, medical equipment, power generation and manufacturing industries, to name a few areas where the process can add benefit.
EcoCeramic end user USPs include: higher surface hardness; wear, corrosion and heat resistance; superior emmissivity strength, allowing higher operating temperature; and a dramatic increase in fatigue strength over normal anodising processes in components ranging from flexible foil to complex geometric shapes.
As part of Ecotech Industries philosophical aims of a world-friendly technology it will also provide long-term sustainable support to humanitarian aid.
The company was born as a direct result of the stakeholders' humanitarian activities in Israel and the former Soviet Union.
They were involved in various projects, for example soup kitchens, which were visited by a team of scientists seeking food aid.
Through trust and goodwill the two groups have worked together to form Ecotech and share new scientific technologies.
Together they will return a considerable percentage of their profits back into society through existing and new projects.
When the team decided to base themselves in the Newhaven area they became members of Sussex Enterprise and were introduced to Jon Yon, the Newhaven Enterprise Gateway Director.
Dr Ron Robertson, Technical Director of Ecotech Industries, commented: "Jon has been a fantastic support system for Ecotech and has done a great deal of networking on our behalf throughout the region".
"Through introductions to relevant people and organisations we have been able to share our knowledge and utilise the resources available to us as a company".
Jon Yon, Newhaven Enterprise Gateway Director, continued: "Ecotech Industries is an emerging company aiming to develop a strong presence throughout the country over the next three years, filling a current need in surface engineering by improving on existing technologies".
"With the support, training and courses offered by the Newhaven Enterprise Gateway the company will be making a big impact on the technology industry over the next few years".
The Newhaven Enterprise Gateway supports entrepreneurs, prestarts, startups and new businesses from any industry sector, including locally trading and lifestyle businesses, social enterprises, not-for-profit businesses and groups currently under-represented in business.
Enterprise Gateways are an exciting new initiative being developed jointly by SEEDA and the South East Business Links to provide business incubation networks nurturing entrepreneurs and young companies within the general business community right across the region.
