Hollistair acquired by expanding
engineering group
Economatics has acquired the trade of Enfield-based pneumatics distributor James Hollister (Hollistair), the official distributor for Maxam Pneumatics in the Home Counties region
Leading engineering supplies and services company Economatics has acquired the trade of Enfield-based pneumatics distributor James Hollister Ltd.- trading as Hollistair As the official distributor for Maxam Pneumatics in the Home Counties region, Hollistair will continue to trade under its own name and existing management - led by Chris Lowry and Dennis Amos, while the Economatics trade centre, currently based in Hertford will also now move to Enfield

The take-over of Hollistair is Economatics' fourth acquisition in 18 months following the purchase of three leading regional compressor-servicing companies.
The acquisitions represent a significant investment by the Sheffield-based company to strengthen its regional presence and its national compressor-servicing network.
The three recently acquired service companies, who operate within the Economatics framework under their own names: Marshall Branson Ltd in Newcastle-upon-Tyne which holds the Compair Broomwade and a recently awarded Compair Hydrovane franchise for the North East; M C Compressors in Preston, specialists in HPC compressors covering the North West, and; Compressed Air Contracts in Glasgow which operates the local sales and services franchises for Fluidair and ABAC compressors.
Existing Economatics operations will work alongside the three businesses in these areas.
Economatics now has one of the strongest independent sales, service and breakdown networks to support industrial compressors, dryers and filters.
Specialists in HPC, Hydrovane, Broomwade, Fluidair, ABAC, Domnick Hunter and Ultrafilter, Economatics can offer a full service and breakdown facility for most other makes of compressors and ancillary equipment.
According to Trevor Helm, chief executive of Economatics, the acquisitions are part of a concerted effort to improve customer service levels throughout the company and grow the servicing activity throughout the company's customer base: "We have maintained a strategy of reinforcing our national distribution and service networks with companies with good reputations, exceptional management and skilled staff.
A new raft of customers now have access to the complete range of Economatics products and services while we have added in-depth local knowledge and more service resource to our operations.".
