Edmund Optics unveils fixed focal length lenses

An Edmund Optics product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Feb 11, 2009

Edmund Optics (EO) has released Techspec compact fixed focal length lenses, designed for use in machine vision applications.

The lenses have been optically designed with the specific working distance and resolution requirements of factory automation and inspection in mind.

They feature large maximum apertures, so they can be used in even the most restrictive lighting conditions.

Each lens includes a broadband anti-reflection coating, which increases transmission by up to 12 per cent over standard MgF2 coatings on competitive lenses, according to the company.

They are available in focal lengths of 8.5mm, 12mm, 16mm, 25mm and 35mm and support up to 2/3in sensors.

Techspec compact fixed focal length lenses feature a locking iris and include a convenient focus adjustment with recessed set screws to prevent unintentional lens adjustments.

The lenses are packaged in a compact, rugged housing, offering the user flexibility in space-constrained applications.

Edmund Optics manufactures each lens to a high tolerance.
