New release upgrades "digital decision making"
Unigraphics NX 2 is the latest version of the next-generation integrated computer-aided design, manufacturing and engineering analysis (CAD/CAM/CAE) software suite.
All afloat with product development software
Sunseeker International has recently implemented the Unigraphics NX collaborative product development and manufacturing software suite at its shipyard headquarters on the UK's south coast.
New program members in 2003 added diverse sets of applications for manufacturing, rapid prototyping, sheet metal fabrication, rendering, viewing, redlining, collaboration, standard parts, electromechanical design and more.
UGS PLM Solutions attributed the strong interest in the Voyager Programme to multiple factors, including external market trends as well as specific Solid Edge milestones reached during the year.
"The growth of engineering software applications worldwide springs from market demand and the success of the mainstream CAD market's model to provide design-centric applications integrated with a large number of third-party software solutions to address specific needs of our customers", said Bruce Boes, Solid Edge Vice President of Global Marketing and Business Strategy.
"The growth reflects the strong emerging trend of 2D system users migrating to the inherently more productive 3D design process".
"A number of important direct Solid Edge-related factors also led to the growth as more companies identified the Solid Edge community as a tremendous growth opportunity", said Mark Davies, Manager of the Solid Edge Voyager Programme.
