PLM backbone is set up in weeks
Siemens Gas Turbine Parts has successfully implemented Teamcenter Express as a PLM backbone.

UGS Velocity Series portfolio also includes Solid Edge, Femap and NX CAM Express.
Initial implementation took just weeks, as SGTP ramps up its first production facilities in Shanghai, China.
The company was established in 2005 as a unit of Siemens' power generation group in China, to supply high-quality precision components for powerful land-based gas turbines.

Enabling efficient cross-border collaboration among mid-sized companies for complex engineering tasks is a critical task in sustaining economic growth in China.

As a start-up operation, SGTP needed an efficient system to manage workflow, bills of materials (BOM) and related drawings, and data from its headquarters in Germany.
The company used Teamcenter Express to set up a single-source data management system with minimal need for customisation and more than 90% of Teamcenter Express functions leveraged "out-of-the-box".

In order to help accelerate PLM capabilities amongst mid-market manufacturers in Asia Pacific, UGS formed the Velocity Series Consortium with HP and Intel.
