Siemens PLM Software unveils Femap Version 10.1

Siemens PLM Software, a provider of product lifecycle management (PLM) services, has released software that provides finite element (FE) modelling and visualisation tools for increased productivity.

Femap is a PC-based computer-aided-engineering (CAE) modelling solution and the finite element analysis (FEA) component of the Velocity Series portfolio.

Bill McClure, vice-president of the Velocity Series at Siemens PLM Software, said: 'This new release significantly enhances the usability of Femap in many areas, including visualisation, modelling and analysis management, results processing, including increased program performance.' Femap Version 10.1 enhancements add new functionality in model visualisation and post processing, as well as NX Nastran software integration and support.

This includes: multi-group display; model display and visualisation; load/constraint set and analysis management; global ply composite post processing; improved efficiency of graphics database storage; 2D tensor force and stress plots; NX Nastran analysis; and job submittal management.

Siemens PLM Software is a business unit of the Siemens Industry Automation Division.
