Finishing school boosts Indian PLM skills

EDS Technologies' PLM finishing school is aimed at students in mechanical and manufacturing engineering courses.

EDS Technologies has signed a memorandum of understanding with PSG College of Technology (PSG Tech) to start a finishing school in Coimbatore, India.

The school will be targeted towards students in mechanical and manufacturing engineering courses, as well as unemployed students as well as working professionals seeking a change in career.

The school focuses on providing industry-specific technical training in Catia V5 PLM tools in order to make engineering graduates more employable.

The students will be certified by EDS Technologies and PSG College of Technology.

Training will be provided in Sketching, Part Designing, Drafting, Assembly and Surface Modelling.

The school also offers placement assistance to students.

The company plans to train around 300 students in the year 2008 - 2009.
