Show focuses on product development process
The UK's largest design technology and engineering solutions exhibition will be held at Birmingham's NEC Pavilion during May 2006.
Product Development 2006, the UK's largest design technology and engineering solutions exhibition, will be held at Birmingham's NEC Pavilion on 17th and 18th May.
The new exhibition, which replaces Solid Modelling and Prototype, will showcase the very latest design, engineering and production technologies, featuring solutions for every stage of the product development process from concept to production and documentation.
Alongside the core exhibition, Product Development 2006 includes a comprehensive workshop and conference programme, regular product demonstrations and a one-day forum for managers.
Product Development 2006 reflects the increasing importance of designers and engineers in the product development process, focusing on the wide range of technologies that exist to enable them to bring better products to market in as short a time as possible.
Next-generation solutions for every stage of the product development cycle will be on show, including 3D design, modelling, simulation, analysis, CAM, rapid prototyping, visualisation, data management and IT hardware.
The workshop and conference programme comprises two days of talks and practical presentations focused on helping designers and engineers make the most of the technologies available in three main areas: product development, prototyping, and process and manufacturing.
The comprehensive programme features 28 different topics, ranging from rapid conceptualisation and knowledge-based design to improving prototyping quality and the digital factory.
In addition, a one-day forum will be held for managers who wish to improve the efficiency and productivity of their organisation.
Exhibition Director Andrew Porter says: "Product Development 2006 is focused on addressing the real commercial and creative pressures facing the industry today".
"As such, we will be showcasing technologies and solutions that deliver a competitive edge, enable the design and manufacture of better products, speed up the design cycle and help to reduce costs".
"The special events and workshops have been designed to help industry practitioners extract as much commercial benefit as possible from the solutions on display, and will explore the current and emerging design engineering trends driving our industry for the coming year".
