Engineered Pressure Systems (EPSI) has recently been awarded a large order for a warm isostatic press production unit (WIP) from a prestigious US government funded laboratory.

EPSI's WIP is a press with a high pressure vessel and pressurised fluid heating to 250C.

Designed for high productivity and low maintenance, EPSI's WIP is ideal for all applications requiring moderate temperature during the application of pressure and can be customised to suit application-specific needs.

The WIP is capable of operating at pressures up to approximately 700MPa, with control of pressurisation and decompression which result in products of uniform density, reducing internal stresses, cracks, strains and laminations in the part being processed.

EPSI's WIP is available in a variety of sizes from pilot to large production units, and features top closure and load handling systems designed to meet the customer's production requirements.

The WIP is equipped with safety and alarm devices, adjustable pressure setpoints, dwell time and fluid drain settings.

The WIP also features a hydraulically intensified high-pressure pump and a decompression circuit, allowing for low wear.

High product repeatability is obtained through the use of elastomer moulds.

The WIP offers automated fast fill and drain circuit with a low-pressure transfer pump.

Configurations available on the WIP include a low-pressure decompression system, yoke frame or threaded closure system, and a vertical or gantry top closure system.
