Elmetherm has received another order for the supply of two radio frequency dryers from a leading pharmaceutical company.

Elmetherm has received another order for the supply of two radio frequency dryers from a leading pharmaceutical company.

The equipment continuously removes 45kg/h of water from cast foam blocks used in the manufacture of high-performance wound dressings, and follows similar units supplied 4 years ago.

The unit consists of two ovens in series each with its own glass-fibre belt and a common drive system.

Drying is effected by a combination of the radio frequency generator, which helps bring the moisture to the surface of the block, and hot air convection which removes the moisture from the surface.

The blocks can be up to 300mm thick.

The scope includes complete design, manufacture and installation of the unit including all software and controls, which will be fully tested at Elmetherm's works before despatch.
