BigHead Bonding Fasteners has standardised its products to comply with recent environmental directives.

BigHead Bonding Fasteners has standardised its products to comply with recent environmental directives.

BigHead has implemented the use of a chrome-free zinc-passive finish for the mild steel range of its famous BigHead bonding fasteners, at no extra charge to the customer.

This type of finish, containing no chrome-6, is now mandatory for plated metal parts used in the auto industry, with other industries rapidly following suit.

"The new plating actually outperforms the 'old' type", says BigHead MD Ken Stanley, "and our customers have no problem with the very slight colour change".

"One thing that is has not affected, of course, is the very high torque and tensile strength provided by our unique welding process".

The complete range of BigHead bonding fasteners - some 2000 variants - is available in either mild steel or 316S11 marine-grade stainless.

To simplify the design process, free samples and prototypes are available through EFC International, BigHead's US master distributor.

Also available is a free CD containing the 2D/3D CAD drawings of the entire product range.

Copies of the CD, as well as full technical information on the complete BigHead product offerings, can be obtained by contacting EFC.
