Epsilon is set to commence testing work for Wolsely UK at the beginning of August, and it is due to test at 888 sites during the first year of the contract.
Epsilon Test Services has won a GBP 450,000 national contract to supply electrical safety testing for Wolseley UK, the leading supplier of heating, plumbing and professional building products.
The deal covers both portable appliance testing (PAT) and fixed installation testing across a portion of Wolseley's network of 1800 UK sites and is set to last for two years, with a possible extension thereafter.
A swift start will see Epsilon commencing work at the beginning of August and it is due to test at 888 sites during the first year of the contract.
Wolseley UK is the name behind a long list of major brands and companies, including Plumb centre, Brandon Hire, Unifix and Bathstore.
Its branches and distribution centres span the UK.
It is part of Wolseley, the world's number one distributor of heading and plumbing products and a leading supplier of builders' products to the professional market.
The contract process started began in February 2007 when the invitation to tender went out.
Wolseley received a total of eight responses and from these short listed three companies that were invited to test sample sites.
Epsilon successfully completed these tests in April and then visited Wolseley for a post tender meeting during May this year.
The notification that Epsilon had won the contract was received at the end of May and the deal signed in July.

Safety is clearly a priority for Wolseley as the company recently won the Gold Award for Occupational Health and Safety from the Royal Society of the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA).
Commenting on the contract, Mark Blanchfield, Managing Director of Epsilon said, "We are delighted to have been selected by Wolseley to fulfil their electrical safety testing".
