Safety interlock switch for high risk
applications
Guardmaster's new Trojan 6 safety interlock switch is the first of its size and type to offer up to 4 sets of contacts in a single compact housing, useful for high risk applications
Guardmaster's new Trojan 6 safety interlock switch is the first of its size and type to offer up to 4 sets of contacts in a single compact housing This new contact arrangement means that Trojan 6 can be used in high risk applications where the requirement is for a dual channel system with indication of guard position via a PLC or PC based controller

Safety switches preserve productivity
The SensaGuard will shut down a machine if a failure occurs before there is a demand on the safety device, which improves machine operator safety.
Safety interlock switch adds escape release
Improved safety provision for machine operators is provided by Allen-Bradley Guardmaster's introduction of a new escape release facility for its TLS-GD2 safety interlock switch.
The Trojan 6 is a tongue operated safety interlock switch that is designed to fit at the opening edge of sliding, hinged or lift-off guards.
An 180o rotatable head, movable only by releasing the cover screws, gives the Trojan 6 four actuator entry points with only two actuator slots.
This makes the unit extremely versatile for installation purposes.
The Trojan 6 is available with either 3 or 4 sets of contacts (e.g 3 N/C+1 N/O, 2N/C + 2N/O).
Both variants conform to EN 1088, EN 60947-5- 1, EN 60204- 1 and EN 292 and include all the necessary safety related functions, such as forced guided contacts and a tamper resistant mechanism, which allow machinery to be safeguarded in compliance with the Machinery Directive.
The versatility of the Trojan 6 is enhanced by the choice of five actuator types.
These are Standard, Flat, Sliding Bolt Actuator (which allows a tag out / lock out facility), Semi-Flexible and Flexible.
The latter two actuators help to lengthen the operating life of the switch by improving mechanical alignment.
The Flexible actuator also provides greater flexibility in installation.
By allowing 15o of freedom in any direction it enables the Trojan 6 to be fitted on guard doors with radii of as little as 60mm.
The Trojan 6 design provides operational safeguards to users with a self-ejecting key option that prevents operation of the safety switch if its key actuator is not fixed to the guard door.
This stops tampering and means that operators with a spare key cannot easily override the switch.
For use in more demanding applications Trojan 6 can be supplied with an optional GD2 kit.
The kit comprises a stainless steel head with integrated actuator guide.
It improves both the mechanical alignment and mechanical life of the safety switch under arduous operating conditions.
