Curtain provides cost-effective coverage
The new GuardShield Type 2 safety light curtain meets the needs of OEM machine builders for a self contained, tough and extremely cost effective safety device.
The new GuardShield Type 2 safety light curtain meets the needs of OEM machine builders for a self contained, tough and extremely cost effective safety device that protects personnel from equipment or machinery hazards where the risk of injury is low The GuardShield Type 2 is designed for use on or around equipment - such as conveyors, packaging and textile machinery, automated assembly lines and automatic storage/retrieval devices - where a formal risk assessment has determined that a Type 2 (per EN61496) safety device is sufficient to provide the level of guarding required by the application

Safety switches preserve productivity
The SensaGuard will shut down a machine if a failure occurs before there is a demand on the safety device, which improves machine operator safety.
Safety interlock switch adds escape release
Improved safety provision for machine operators is provided by Allen-Bradley Guardmaster's introduction of a new escape release facility for its TLS-GD2 safety interlock switch.
The GuardShield Type 2 offers OEMs an unequalled package of cost competitiveness, reliability, durability and flexibility.
Providing high levels of ingress protection to IP65, and housed in a unique rugged case, it is simple to install via quick disconnect cables, reliable in operation and is TUV and CE marked for conformance to all applicable directives.
An advanced and cost competitive "two-box" design, the GuardShield Type 2 supplies multiple safety beams in a range of protective heights from 160 to 1760mm, with a 30mm resolution across a wide scanning range of 0.3 to 18m.
The two boxes that make up the system, a transmitter and a receiver, operate synchronously and are, therefore, not physically connected.
The effectiveness of this design means that the transmitter, which operates on low voltage 24V DC supply, requires no bulky - and costly - controller box.
The GuardShield Type 2 is offered in either a "guard only" operating mode or in a factory configured operating mode of restart interlock with external device monitoring.
In either operating mode, the GuardShield Type 2 safety light curtain provides the appropriate level of protection to personnel.
