Workholding toggle clamps are ubiquitous in manufacturing industry, which finds them a fast convenient way of locating jigs and components for operations such as moulding, welding and plastic forming.

Elesa now has a comprehensive range of vertical, horizontal, straight line, latch and pneumatic toggle clamps, which it reckons are especially competitive for most industrial applications.

Under the heading Speedy Block, Elesa now offers 21 different types of toggle unit each in a variety of sizes.

The over centre action of these clamps offer holding forces from 400N to a whopping 45kN.

Construction is generally of case hardened steel zinc plated and with a red vinyl oil resistant handle.

Some types are suitable for welding in situ, however generally fixing is by standard bolting methods.

Vertical and horizontal clamping levers on the Speedy Block range can be fitted with a variety of spindle plungers and spring buffered spindles.

Coppered plungers on straight line series units also make them suitable for use in welding applications, to avoid possible welding slag damage.

Latch types are offered with hooks or yokes.
