Security lobe knobs provide simple operation

An Elesa (UK) product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Dec 20, 2006

The Elesa VLS range of security lobe knobs is suitable for use as as machine guards, specialist tooling, and location of jig components.

The Elesa VLS range of security lobe knobs is designed to provide a clamping/closing function coupled with simple operation and security.

Originally conceived to meet the requirements of a swimming pool cover installation, it was quickly realised that they would be of great benefit elsewhere as well - such as machine guards, specialist tooling, and location of jig components.

VLS security lobe knobs have been designed to be unsecured only by authorised personnel provided with the security key.

The knob may be tightened up as normal and with the key in place it unscrews as normal, but when the key is removed an internal ratchet mechanism operates with an audible click warning so the knob cannot be undone.

Two types of key are available - a fold down type to be left in place throughout the working day and then removed; and a ball-top key to be kept on a key ring for occasional use.

The VLS range comes in a standard 55mm diameter grip size produced in black glass reinforced technopolymer.

The keys have red moulded handles for ready identification.
