A GBP 220,000 grant from regional development agency One North East has allowed pressure-management specialist Elfab to open state-of-the-art training and conference facilities.

A GBP 220,000 grant from regional development agency One North East has allowed pressure-management specialist Elfab to open state-of-the-art training and conference facilities.

The grant has contributed to the company's significant investment in new capital equipment to support its manufacturing capabilities, while also enabling it to update its premises in North Shields.

Elfab will use the new training facilities for both its own employees and its customers.

Elfab strongly promotes training within its workforce and also delivers bespoke product training to its customers as part of a technical consultancy service.

This approach is proving to be extremely successful, with a number of customers - including GSK, Ulverston and BP CATS Teesside - having recently taken part in such training programmes.

The new investments will increase opportunities for support and development for both staff and customers.

Elfab's Managing Director, Simon Keenan, said: "Following the completion of these facilities we are now uniquely positioned to offer our customers an extensive range of training programmes".

Elfab's sales have increased significantly year-on-year and this growth can, in some part, be attributed to the bespoke induction courses and rigorous training methods introduced by the company.
