Elma has extended its range of ergonomically designed handles with three new CompactPCI models, covering standard and telecom/H110 applications
A responsive and local resource is essential to support our distributors and customers, especially in areas such as complete CompactPCI subassemblies," said Mellor.
The new 4,000 sq ft office will initially consist of 8 people, covering sales and logistics, as well as an applications engineering team with workshop facilities.
Mellor expects to treble Elma's UK turnover to £2m in the first year, across the company's range of rotary controls and fast turn-round 19" enclosure systems.
Dave Mellor joins Elma from specialist distributor Radiatron, where he was Divisional Manager for panel and packaging products.
As well as a background in manufacturing, Mellor brings more than 15 years of industry experience in sales and senior management with companies such as ITT, Niche and ITW, including direct involvement with the sub-contract electronic and metalwork sectors.
In addition to holding stocks of standard products, the Fareham office will have direct access to Elma scheduling and design databases, enabling the UK team to support both direct customers and the existing distribution network.
This local capability will be especially valuable when customising standard products or designing custom solutions for extreme applications.
