Elo TouchSystems, the global leader in touch technology and a unit of Tyco Electronics Corporation, has launched in the UK its new "Entuitie" 1525L Desktop touchmonitor.

Elo TouchSystems, the global leader in touch technology and a unit of Tyco Electronics Corporation, has launched in the UK its new "Entuitive" 1525L Desktop touchmonitor consisting of a fully-integrated touchscreen and 15-inch LCD display in a slim-line desktop case Designed for point of sale, light industrial, medical or general desktop applications, the new touchmonitor comes with a choice of Elo's AccuTouch five-wire resistive or IntelliTouch surface wave touchscreen technology

The model 1525L features a high brightness 200cdm[2] LCD and up to 92% light transmission, dependent upon touch technology, for the highest picture clarity of any touchscreen overlay on the market.

It is engineered for quick and simple installation employing a high stability base with a bolt-down mounting capability for added security in high traffic applications.

Additionally, twin loudspeakers and video, touchscreen and power connectors are all integrated within the base of the unit for an elegant touchmonitor solution.

Video formats supported include VGA/SVGA/XGA and analogue and the display has a 1024 x 768 at 72Hz screen resolution.

In addition, the touchmonitor is available with options of serial or USB interfaces.

Support is provided for Windows 9X/2000/NT, WinCE and Macintosh operating systems, and it meets all popular worldwide standards, including CE, T V, GS, UL, FCC and cUL.

The touchmonitor with IntelliTouch will operate with a finger or gloved hand, or any other soft stylus, and with AccuTouch with any stylus.

It is resistant to scratches and ingress of liquids, through accident, environment or humidity, and comes with a minimum 3-year warranty for the monitor and up to 10-year warranty for the IntelliTouch screen and 5-years for the AccuTouch screen.

Elo TouchSystems recently announced the establishment of direct sales support in the UK and Ireland, allowing it to better serve the fast-growing demand for touchmonitor and touchscreen products in these markets.

Customers will have the benefit of a new direct communications channel to Elo's global pre- and post-sales customer service, engineering, and manufacturing organisation via the new office in Swindon, Wiltshire.
