The Orion multispectral imaging system incorporates an internal high-speed filter wheel that accepts up to four separate filters for viewing subspectral ranges.
Rotating at up to 12,000rev/min, the wheel has an optical encoder which assures that each filter is synchronised to its unique integration time.
The filters in the Orion are standard one inch filters, available from several sources, and can be installed in the field.
The Orion is based on the popular Jade camera electronics platform.
The sensor is a 320 x 240 high quantum efficiency focal plane array (windowed to 256 x 256) and features state-of-the-art 14bit digital electronics integrated in a compact and durable housing, making the camera the ideal solution for a number of demanding applications, including target signature analysis, subspectral analysis, gas detection and general R and D.
For added versatility and to meet specific field of view requirements, the Orion is compatible with a number of interchangeable optics including a 25, 50, 100 and 200mm lens.
Additional advanced features including variable snap shot integration, variable frame rates (up to 240Hz), an RS422 digital output and an internal/external synchronisation trigger.
The Orion is designed to interface with Altair, a powerful real-time data acquisition and infra-red image analysis workstation.
The Orion can also be used in a standard Jade mode.
