Elysium and Maya Metrix have announced that Elysium will develop CAD translator software for integration into Maya's Metrix Build!IT product line

Elysium and Maya Metrix today announced they have entered into a strategic alliance to help the aerospace, automotive and manufacturing industries use CAD part and assembly models on the shop floor.

Under the terms of the agreement, Elysium will develop CAD translator software for integration into Maya's Metrix Build!IT product line.

Metrix Build!IT enables 3D CAD models to be effectively utilized on the shop floor for real-time geometry-based measurement, inspection, analysis and assembly tool-building.

Elysium develops CAD data translator software for conversion between all major 3D CAD systems including Catia, I-Deas, Pro/Engineer, SolidWorks and Unigraphics.

"We see this partnership with MAYA Metrix as a key opportunity for providing interoperability between the major CAD platforms," said Ken Tashiro, Vice President of Elysium.

"We are very pleased to see our technology become an integral part of the 3D CAD-based inspection and measurement capabilities offered by Build!IT." "Maya Metrix is committed to equipping our customers with the tools they need for 3D measurement, inspection and assembly tooling," said Arnold Free, Vice President of business development for Maya Metrix.

"Elysium's software is important to Metrix Build!IT because it allows us to integrate with all of the major CAD systems.

"In our testing, Elysium's technology was able to successfully translate 3D CAD part models with an extremely high success rate.

We believe that this reliable transfer of data will result in greatly improved performance benefiting Maya Metrix customers.".
