Elastomer coupling features patented design

An Emerson Power Transmission product story

Emerson Power Transmission has published a new 23-page catalogue featuring its Kop-Flex Odyssey elastomer resilient couplings.

Emerson Power Transmission has published a new 23-page catalogue featuring its Kop-Flex Odyssey elastomer resilient couplings.

The new Odyssey coupling features a patented design that provides a dual flex-point diaphragm design.

This design, which provides greater parallel offset capacity and reduced reaction forces on the equipment, is particularly effective for pump applications.

The unique design bonds urethane to steel hubs and a composite centre.

These high-performance materials minimise corrosion to critical surfaces, thereby reducing both maintenance and life cycle costs.

Other product features include: reduced centre weight for better balance; less load on bearings and seals; high strength self-locking fasteners designed to minimise over tightening; standard, jumbo and long hubs (from stock); and a unique three-year warranty.

Odyssey stock couplings meet AGMA Class 9 or better tolerances.

Odyssey couplings can meet the API 610 balance requirements of AGMA Class 9 by boring the hubs to API 610 requirements.

The new catalogue features a comparison chart of pump couplings, Odyssey coupling selection chart, part number charts, and installation and alignment instructions with easy to follow photographs.

Kop-Flex offers over 25,000 coupling combinations of type, sise and bore offerings.

Kop-Flex couplings serve the steel, pulp and paper, petrochemical, refinery and other industries.
