Specialist hinges for traditional appearance

An EMKA UK product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Aug 22, 2003

The wide range of hinge types within the 1030 series ensures that specialist panel builders can easily find a suitable item to suit flange returns of 16 to 25mm or greater.

The traditional lay-on protruding door has a number of advantages for electrical or electronic cabinets as it ensures maximum door dimension almost to the width of the frame and can be designed to open to 180 degrees, even when cabinets are mounted side by side.

As a result, Emka has developed a varied range of hinge types within the 1030 series which ensure that specialist panel builders can easily find a suitable item to suit flange returns of 16 to 25mm or greater.

1030 series hinges feature external and internally concealed types with fixing methods including screws, weld-on or studs.

All the 1030 series are demountable with the door open to improve access to interior equipment or to door installations during maintenance or panel build.

This is achieved by lift-off design or a removable pin.

Such cabinets come in many different types and sizes and they encounter environments from offices to oil rigs - so Emka 1030 hinges are available in arrange of suitable materials and finishes.

Materials include: mild steel in raw finish for weld and paint, or zinc plated; zinc die cast finished in chrome or black powder coat; or stainless steel for the maximum in strength and corrosion resistance.

Dimensional capabilities up to 2m plus height door units are catered for by multiples of two, three or four hinges per door, relative to the weight of the door itself and any equipment mounted on it.
